Children need support, guidance, and age-appropriate encouragement to grow up healthy. However, for many children around the world, these basics are not a given.
The Moving Child Foundation specifically supports projects that empower children and young people in difficult life situations—where they need help most urgently.
Our support focuses on three key areas:
Health
The Moving Child Foundation supports projects that provide children and their caregivers with targeted medical, nursing, or psychosocial assistance—both acute and long-term. This helps to provide support and guidance during stressful periods of life and allows children to develop greater confidence in their own abilities.
Education
Many families—especially those with a history of migration or displacement—place great hope in education to open up new opportunities for their children. Education is much more than just school lessons: it provides guidance, boosts self-confidence, and opens up new perspectives.
The Moving Child Foundation supports projects that reach children and young people in difficult life situations – through language support, creative learning formats, therapeutic support, or the expansion of specific educational opportunities. This enables children to learn to express their needs, feel heard and seen, and experience a sense of choice.
Creativity
Art, music, play, and movement enable children to engage with themselves and the world in a playful, physical way that involves all their senses. These experiences strengthen self-awareness, expressiveness, and emotional resilience. However, creative and physical activities are often considered “extras” and remain inaccessible to the very children who need them most.
The Moving Child Foundation supports organizations and places where relationships are formed, inner processes are allowed to become visible, and children experience that they can make a difference.
Current Projects
These are the first new projects of the Moving Child Foundation, as well as the ongoing projects of Moving Child gGmbH. More will follow throughout the year. Moving Child gGmbH will cease its nonprofit activities at the end of 2027.
