The Moving Child Foundation was founded on June 11, 2025, in Munich. The foundation is recognized as a legally independent foundation under civil law and is classified by the tax office as a non-profit and charitable organization.

This continues the successful work of Moving Child gGmbH, which was founded in 2010 by Anna Schulz-Dornburg and Gertraud Leimstättner. With the establishment of the current foundation, this commitment is placed on a permanent and sustainable basis. The focus of the funding remains the same: health, education, and creativity. The Moving Child Foundation will continue its collaboration with most of these organizations.

Anna Schulz-Dornburg, founder and benefactor:

“In many regions of the world, children’s fundamental rights are severely violated on a daily basis. This reality, which touches and moves me deeply, inspires me to contribute to the protection of children from violence and to the safeguarding of their right to social justice, development, and health. My concern is that children in challenging life situations—children who need protection, support, and encouragement—are seen and heard by aid organizations and receive the support they need.”

We are touched and moved by babies, children and young people who are looking for support for their own life plan. We support their development and promote a future in which they can live as healthily as possible in harmony with their environment.”

Our scope of work extends to the prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal periods, as it has become even clearer to us in recent years how a good start in life can shape one’s future path.

Children and young people from financially disadvantaged families rarely have access to resources such as academic support, creative activities, and physical therapy. As a result, these young people can quickly lose their footing and fail to fully realize their potential as they grow.

If a child is seriously ill or even facing a life-threatening condition, the challenge for the child and their family is usually immense and life-altering. The Moving Child Foundation aims to support children, their siblings, and their parents during such times of fear, helplessness, and grief through various means, and therefore promotes projects that help families find support even during these emotionally taxing times.

The Moving Child Foundation steps in where children lack essential resources—for example, we offer the opportunity to engage with themselves and the world in a playful and experimental way through movement, music, and art, and to experience a sense of connection.

Our values

The Moving Child Foundation is a value-driven nonprofit organization.
It upholds these core values as the foundation of its daily actions and activities, and continually refines its value system for the benefit of the children and the organization. These values remain vibrant and enduring, even in times of change.
