A cancer diagnosis in childhood or adolescence represents a massive disruption to daily life for the families affected. The loss of normalcy, long hospital stays, and treatment-related side effects often lead to a drastic reduction in physical activity. Yet physical activity is of central importance for the healthy physical, mental, and social development of children and adolescents.

This is where the project by the Initiative krebskranke Kinder München e.V. comes in: Through exercise sessions supervised by sports scientists and tailored to individual needs, children and adolescents are supported throughout all phases of therapy and follow-up care. This gives them the opportunity to maintain their joy of movement, stabilize their physical abilities, and regain a sense of normalcy.

The Moving Child Foundation covers the costs of the sports therapists.
